This release is a major step for Turtles and CAPI in Rancher as it ships with CAPI v1.12 and adopts the new core CAPI contract v1beta2. The Rancher team has put together a simplified migration guide to make the transition as easy as possible.

Additionally, you can refer to the official CAPI migration guide to understand the full extent of the implications of moving to a CAPI version >=v1.11.

Before updating we recommend that you familiarize with the changes introduced by your provider/s of choice and, if needed, adapt your cluster templates accordingly.
