Important

CentOS Stream is not supported.

Important

Registering RHEL directly with SUSE Customer Center is not currently supported.

This guide describes how to register with SUSE Manager. SUSE Manager is a lifecycle management system for mixed Linux environments. The SUSE Manager Server is registered with SUSE Customer Center, and other systems are registered as clients of SUSE Manager and receive packages from it directly.

To register with Repository Mirroring Tool, see Registering RHEL 9 with RMT.

Procedure overview
Note
Note: SUSE Multi-Linux Support and SUSE Liberty Linux

SUSE Multi-Linux Support was previously named SUSE Liberty Linux. During the transition period, some components might still use the name SUSE Liberty Linux.

2 Deploying SUSE Manager

See the following guide to install SUSE Manager on SUSE Linux Enterprise Micro, a lightweight, immutable operating system for containerized and virtual workloads: SUSE Manager Quick Start: Deploy SUSE Manager Server.

You can use your SUSE Multi-Linux Support subscription to register this machine.

Tip
Tip: Other installation options

For additional installation options, see the full SUSE Manager Installation and Upgrade Guide.

To deploy SUSE Manager in the public cloud, see SUSE Manager Public Cloud Guide.

Important
Important: SUSE Multi-Linux Support 9 repository size

The SUSE Multi-Linux Support 9 repositories will grow over time because older package versions are not removed. Based on the current[1] size of the repositories, to meet the 1.5 times size recommendation you will need approximately 335 GB of disk space for the default repositories.

If you need the optional Source and Debug repositories, you will need an additional 665 GB available.

3 Registering RHEL with SUSE Manager

See the following guide to register Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 with SUSE Manager: SUSE Manager Client Configuration Guide: Registering SUSE Liberty Linux Clients.
